The Setting: The Evergreen House
The Couple: Sara and John
The Event: A Perfect Wedding
In a month not known for great weather in Maryland, we were fortunate to have one of the most pleasant days of the summer fall on Sara and John's wedding day. We were prepared with paper fans, cool iced water and colorful parasols for a blistering hot day, but instead the guests enjoyed a lovely summertime evening on the beautiful lawns of The Evergreen House in Baltimore.
When the officiant stated that in 42 years, this was the most lovely bride he has ever seen, no one was surprised. After all, the bride was Sara Albert, a finalist on Season 6 of the reality television show America's Next Top Model. With an equally handsome groom by her side, Sara and John exchanged vows in front of the bubbling fountain. Lovely flowers by Holly Chapple accented the well manicured grounds of Evergreen.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the signature drink of mint juleps in Mason jars and delicious hors d'oeuvres from Classic Catering. Music for both the ceremony and cocktail hour was played by the musicians of Castaglia Trio which is a violin, cello, and flute.
Guests were then invited to walk down the brick stairway to the historic Carriage House where guest tables were decorated with peach and white flowers (Holly Chapple), celery green pintuck tablecloths with crisp white hemstitch linen napkins (from Table Toppers) and menu cards printed by the bride.
Music was already enveloping the space provided by deejay Mike from mydeejay.com. Dinner was served following a heartwarming welcome speech by Sara's dad and toasts from the best man and a bridesmaid.
It certainly didn't take long for the partying to get started after dinner. With deejay Mike at the ready, the guests filled the dance floor from the start and didn't stop until the last dance was over. It was a lively gathering of both young and old alike and only paused briefly for the cutting of the wedding cake which was baked by Sweet Bakery in Ellicott City. The candy bar was a popular stop for all the dancers throughout the night.
It was a thrill to work with Srinu and Amy Regetti from Regeti Photography for the first time. They are so talented and so nice and we are looking forward to seeing all the photos. A small sampling are below and more can be found on their blog.
It was such a pleasure planning the wedding along with Sara and John. They were delightful from the very first meeting until they rode away in the town car at the end of the reception. Who would have guessed that we would meet and work with a couple who are not only gorgeous, but also very bright with wonderful futures ahead of them and also very kind. We shall miss talking with them.
Congratulations Sara and John!
