Memory Ball Update

The 2009 Memory Ball was a wonderful event held last weekend at The Baltimore Hilton. The Dancing Stars program was a jaw dropping display of fabulous dancers who donated their time to The Alzheimer's Association's biggest fundraiser of the year in Baltimore.

Congratulations to the dancing winners: Lainy Lebow-Sachs, Linnyette Richardson-Hall, Natalie Beese, and Lee & Christine Gedansky. It was such fun to see them all dance like pros.

The Baltimore Memory Ball raised nearly $ 80,000. to benefit the programs and research in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

And I must once again thank my friends Jeanne Graham at Blue Sage Floral Design for donating floral centerpieces for 50 (!) guest tables, to Patti Boyle at Table Toppers for donating ALL the table linens for the Ballroom, and to Carl Brashears from Classic DJs for donating his deejay services for the evening.

One of Our Own

One more comment about the Alzheimer's Association 2009 Memory Ball: One of the dancing stars is wedding and event planner Linnyette Richardson Hall. Please go to the Alzheimer's Association website and cast your vote in dollars ($ 1.00 = 1 vote) for Linnyette.

Linnyette and the other dancers volunteer their time and their talent to this very worthy cause and they appreciate your votes so much. Even contributions of ten or twenty dollars certainly add-up so cast your votes today!

You can also support the organization by attending the Memory Ball on Saturday, April 18th. The black tie event promises to be a great time for a great cause. Please join our "Dancing Stars," and celebrity emcee Steve Rouse and order tickets here.

So Generous

A big thank you to one of my favorite deejays Carl Brashears from Classic Disc Jockeys. Carl has agreed to donate his services to The Alzheimer's Association 2009 Memory Ball taking place on April 18th at The Baltimore Hilton.

Since the theme of the event is "Dancing with the Stars", the role of the deejay is very important as he plays the music to which the dancers have been practicing for months. Their carefully choreographed routines depend on the accuracy of the cued music and I can't think of anyone better than Carl to be in charge of that task.

In this economy it is especially important to support the hard hit non-profits. The mission of The Alzheimer's Association is especially important in our aging society. They have made such great strides towards treatment and a cure for the devastating disease.

Please support The Alzheimer's Association by logging on to vote for one of the dancing stars or by attending The Memory Ball. It is always a fun event for a good cause. Hope to see you there!

Dancing with the Stars!

We were so happy to be a part of The Memory Ball for the Alzheimer's Association on April 5th. The event was a huge success raising over $126,000 for support groups, help lines, and research.

The success of the event was due, in no small part, to the participation of the stars that made up the "Dancing with the Stars" program for the evening. Many thanks to this years Stars: Dr. and Mrs. Majid Fotuhi, Dorothy Hamill & Tim Murphy, Heather Keller, Diane Lyn, Dr. and Mrs. Peter Rabins, Molly Shattuck, Brandy Washington, and Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Ross.

We look forward to being a part of Memory Ball 2009!
